Shared Hosting Panel with replication built in

AnthonySmithAnthonySmith Member, Patron Provider

Hi Folks,

Done some googling and I was surprised to find there are no shared hosting panels (that I can find) which have replication built in.

Does anyone know of any or even any plugins for other panels?

I dont mind if it is commercial.

i.e. auto sets up mysql replication + content sync per site.

I know how to do it manually but it would be nice to have a bit more automation built in.

Ant.

You found a gap in the market, now learn lots of php to make a panel ...

  • VestaCP will have web replication soon I believe.

Some posts point to it, I am curious how their cluster(ing) will work once its launched.

I did find ISPsystem's cluster and HCnix but that is not really what I was looking for.

Ah, Interworx seems to do the job, will have a look in to that.

I have a script for cPanel that integrates with cPanel and will cluster websites to 4 locations automatically. If you PM me i'll email you it if you want

Does it handle sql, email replication?

It does MySQL, not email, as we didn't allow much email at the time of developing the script.

    i said that about vestacp

VestaCP has promised mail replication in the next version. I think it can handle mysql replication.

Guess you need some rsync magic to sync the webfiles.

cPanel will have web-replication soon too :)

    I was thinking about this - http://releases.cpanel.net/releases/11-44/configuration-cluster/

It's missing some of the features though, I thought it had file and sql clustering.

There are some easy steps that almost any provider could do to get HA at least with in the same DC with shared hsoting

Indeed but I was looking at a more scaleable and automated solution, I may end up just doing it myself though.

I was talking with someone the other day who stated, after talking with interworx support, that they absolutely needed IP spoofing to be acceptable on the network for this to work. I was a bit disappointed by that.

Yep there is no solution apart from DIY sadly.

surely all you need is any control panel running with a. galera enabled mysql database. of course this mean all tables have to be Innodb.

I know that @drservers shared hosting plan that he gives free with ninjas are replicated around 10 node cluster.

Last time I used Iworx clustering, I believe it didn't sync mysql, however, this was 3-4 years ago, so it may have that functionality now... Interworx is pretty solid.
