I wonder it's dedicated CPU, or it's vCPU?

  • Hi,
could you say something about bandwith (limits)?

Do you have some kind of ToS/AuP?

    Thanks,

    gehaxelt

These questions are an example of why offers should be properly specced out and not just be a discount code and a link :-/

    Thanked by 3gehaxelt cassa geekalot
  • @c1bl - we do not pin VDS to specific CPU core, so all VDS's using physical CPU's in shared mode. As specified in our measurements, maximum CPU load on our nodes not more than 30-40%. So your VDS always can get needed CPU power.

@gehaxelt - bandwidth unlimited, but we ask to think about other customers' on your node :) So you can handle any peaks you need, up to maximum physical speed (1Gb/s per node). But if you need to distribute "heavy" content - take a look to dedicated servers.

    ToS/AUP available on our site:
    http://itldc.com/support/acceptable-use-policy/
    http://itldc.com/en/support/

@Nekki, thank you for remark. I've placed a link to previous topic(s) where all of that questions mentioned. In the future I will make more detailed description of services and terms.

    Regards,
    Dmitry

    Thanks @RA4W.

Do you accept adult stuff in UA? I don't see any restrictions in the policy, but wanted to make sure it's fine.

  • @RA4W - thanks.

@chrisp - no, hosting adult content in UA not allowed by local law.

    KVM VDS512,

do you support custom windows iso with own license? such as windows xp or 2003, thanks

  • @hotsnow - basically, you can install any OS from your own ISO image using VNC console. Please note that we using virtio, please check drivers for that.

About licenses - we offer Windows Server 2008 or 2012 with additional fee (€10,99/mo).

do you use solusvm? don't need you staff help upload the iso first? I know the solusvm don't support upload isos by myself

Not that I'm so much into dd porn, but shouldn't the values be a bit better with virtio and an SSD based node (this is in Kharkov)?

    dd if=/dev/zero of=test bs=64k count=16k conv=fdatasync
    16384+0 records in
    16384+0 records out
    1073741824 bytes (1.1 GB) copied, 29.8325 s, 36.0 MB/s

To compare it i took the closest spec-wise would be a 512mb ram kvm ssd-based vps i have in London with Castlegem:

    dd if=/dev/zero of=test bs=64k count=16k conv=fdatasync
    16384+0 records in
    16384+0 records out
    1073741824 bytes (1.1 GB) copied, 2.10857 s, 509 MB/s

  • Not worth even $1/m with that kind of speed.

It's not bad at all, it's only bad for an SSD node I guess.

  • @chrisp, please contact me directly - we need to investigate this issue. It's not normal at all, but we do not see any alarms on our monitoring.

@hotsnow - no, we using VMManager over KVM virtualization. And yes, you need to contact support first, because we need to place your ISO image into storage.

@ddeineka I just sent you a message with my details and would be curious to find out if this is an actual problem.

    Thanked by 1ddeineka
  • @chrisp, thank you, your feedback very important. We working on this issue.

  • Here's a benchmark from their UA-512 VDS:

    Number of cores : 1
    CPU frequency : 3399.976 MHz
Total amount of ram : 497 MB
Total amount of swap : 509 MB
    System uptime : 36 min,
    Download speed from CacheFly: 5.99MB/s

Download speed from Linode, Tokyo, JP: 812KB/s
Download speed from i3d.net, Rotterdam, NL: 3.92MB/s
Download speed from Leaseweb, Haarlem, NL: 5.11MB/s
Download speed from Softlayer, Singapore: 637KB/s

    Have fun! :)

They reacted immediately and moved me to another node, where I now also get ~130-140 MB/s like @gehaxelt. This is fine for me I must say, although in general SSDs should even score a bit better.

Do all nodes have 1Gb/s connections? (because in the LEB offer posted some weeks ago it says 100Mbps uplink.)

  • I don't think is SSD.

  • ddeinekaddeineka Member
    edited July 2014

@chrisp: Yes, all nodes has 1Gbps uplink. Basic VDS512 in few locations has 100Mbps limit, VDS1024 and bigger - no limit at all. I've removed bandwidth limit for your VDS, please reboot and check again. My apologies for this mislead.

@MorningIris - on traditional storage with concurrent i/o very hard to reach 100+MB/s. We performs number of tests with VDS's from another hosters like DO and found our results at least good :)

  • @ddeineka Sorry but you're totally wrong.

  • My server is long long waiting in progress, look like not automatic setup

  • @harrysdt - of course, we using preseed/kickstart for install operating systems :) You select Centos 7 but I see on console automatic installation failure. I've just restart installation with more stable Centos 6, you can always reinstall or upgrade your OS. My apologies for delay.

  • Hello Dmitry, rather than ordering new, is that possible to use the promo code to renew my existing SSD VDS service?
