  • Scion said: I'm also trying out elastictrace but I don't feel like their service is quite "there" yet. Their agent has a thread leak (creates an increasing number of threads over time and eats more and more memory) and they don't have any kind of alerting when a system goes down. Their site is very slick though and their support has been good. I think they have a lot of potential but still have some work to do.

Thank you for the feedback. I wanted to let you know that we have a new version which includes alerting, And also the bug that caused lots of threads to be eaten should be fixed if you still please have it connect our support page. support.elastictrace.com.

  • StatusCake has worked well for me for the past year or so. That with smokeping shows quite a bit on VPS downtime and latency.

If you dig around you can find good statuscake coupons too for the paid levels.

  • NodeQuery

  • I really like uptimerobot.com, but NodeQuery is my new favorite.

  • use Pingdom.com

Most companies do not offer enterprise-grade (1-min interval)  monitoring for free. Uptime Doctor lets you monitor 5 URLs every minute, completely FREE. This is more than enough for small businesses,  developers and bloggers.
