Check out ExpertVM which is based in Singapore. They have 128MB LEBs too

Someone in LEB IRC pointed me to http://www.kagoya.jp/cloud/vps/plan.html

    ssdsdsdsdsdsdsd> 1GB OVZ , up to 2GB, 3 cores, 11 USD/month
    ssdsdsdsdsdsdsd> 100mbit unmetered
    ssdsdsdsdsdsdsd> 11 MB/s from/to USA/EU

$11/mo is not LEB but it has a whopping 200GB HDD space, and being in Japan, I think it's extremely good value. It's a promo though, so not clear how long will it last. Reportedly they do not require that the client lives in Japan.

    @rm_ - do they offer IPv6?

  • No, they don't - speed is not as good as said also :(

  • wickawicka Member

Wow 200GB by 11US in Japan!!
How you know the speed is not good?

  • i have one.

@gbshouse said: do they offer IPv6?

Their website is on IPv6, so I supposed yes they do.

  • @William said: i have one.

For some reason, I find this justification pretty funny.

Also, I really don't have anything new to add to this thread except that I still haven't purchased one but I'm putting that project on hold until I'm willing to invest more in it. Sorry guys for those of you who contacted me about it. You guys really helped me out though (finding out the basic price that I should expect for Asia).

  • Google Inline translate works well by the way.

Haha, well it is a basic explanation - How else could i know ;)

Speedtest hosted on my VPS with them:
    http://153.127.240.96/100mb.bin

    Download from EDIS Hongkong:

    v2261:/var/www# wget hktest.edis.at/100mb.bin
    --2012-06-10 03:50:50-- http://hktest.edis.at/100mb.bin
    Resolving hktest.edis.at... 124.248.212.94, 2400:f100:2:1:216:3eff:feb2:ddc0
    Connecting to hktest.edis.at|124.248.212.94|:80... connected.
HTTP request sent, awaiting response... 200 OK
    Length: 102400000 (98M) [application/octet-stream]
    Saving to: `100mb.bin.1'

    100%[===================================================================================================================================================================================================>] 102,400,000 655K/s in 2m 12s

    2012-06-10 03:53:03 (758 KB/s) - `100mb.bin.1' saved [102400000/102400000]

  • What VPS control panel is that? Looks pretty different from the Solum and LXAdmin that I'm used to (oh and Pony too).

Also 655K/s isn't the best (like you said). You'd probably get better speed from one of the Los Angeles servers or one the OneAsiaHost has (that one had pretty good speed in Asia). Just putting that out there for some of you guys haha.

  • Their own, Japanese only.
The Download speed is consistent at around 1MB/s from Asia, the USA and Europe.

@William From downloading the 100mb.bin testfile from your VPS, I got a steady 1.3MB/s (I'm in South Korea btw).

    Here's the ping:

EDIS hong kong download test was around low to mid 800kb/s.

Edit: Shoot forgot the ping to the EDIS Hong Kong. Sorry about that

Blah, I couldn't find any in Korea that allows non-residents of Korea. I did find a bunch of good data centers for all you out there looking for co-location / dedicated servers. But then again I only found two allowing foreign registrations and it is a little more expensive XD.

  • Wolf95Wolf95 Member

HE seems pretty good for connections to Asia, I've seen the ping average around 80ms.

  • @shunny haha sounds about right.

What do you think about ninevps.com?

    Thanked by 1Miky
  • @gbshouse well seeming I can't read any of it, I probably wouldn't use them.

One I did not know :-) Soon going to try!
If server(s) is/are really in Thailand, I won't recommend them for anyone outside anyway.

  • @FTN_Kevin said: You should consider Los Angeles for more resources and bandwidth at lower prices, it still gets good latency to and from Asia.

2nd. Going this route is very common.
