To clarify: this is only for existing clients, and we'll probably be done handing them out shortly. We had a pretty good idea of how this new system would run already, but wanted to fill it up for a couple days just to see. The filling up part is going by pretty quick after a tweet went out :)

Anyway, the real thing will hopefully be ready within a week or two, so stay tuned!

Don't think that's going to happen. Unless your name is GreenValueHost, of course.

On IRC it looks like a new $10/mo 1GB KVM plan and a $7/mo 1GB OpenVZ plan.

    And then GVH threads :-p

Is this discount for SSD or SSD cached plans?

  • Is Netherlands plans still available? I can't see it listed in the locations.

    Seems to be

  • The following information might not be accurate, nor is it first hand, so don't quote me on it.

planning to launch cheaper SSD plans on openvz and kvm
different processors, fewer cores per plan, everything else the same, cheaper price basically

    • Testing is for people who have ramnode accounts
    • Testing is only for a couple days
    • Possible pricing $10/GB KVM and $7/GB openVZ
    • Probably no more coupons either for this new product line

It's not really a new line then is it, just different configurations of what they already offer.

  • oh monthly pricing..thought it was a yearly plan.. i pass.

  • Well you should still be able to pay yearly, assuming their billing system hasn't changed.

It involves some new product lines. It's not just what we already offer with a new pricing scheme.

We'll announce more in the coming days/weeks, but I can't say too much yet!

    Sounds interesting.
$10/mo 1GB KVM compete with DO && Linode offers.

  • I predict a cloud setup as part of the new product line.

    With a twist... they're bikinis...

@mpkossen has also graciously agreed to model for all of us.

  • After their new control panel is launched which is still under development they well be in competition with linode , Vultr, digitalocean

Did they say Atlanta Colo coming soon?

  • Nick_ANick_A Member, Top Host, Host Rep

No colo - we were going to do that a while back, but ran into some delays and now we might not be able to spare the space. Maybe down the road.
