    Where's here? Because in both most European countries, and the US, you're forced to go to school for several years - in Texas you're pretty much forced for 13 years, with very limited exceptions. If you don't go/skip you can be thrown in jail.

    And the worst part is, a good portion of them don't want to be there, they want to be sitting at home getting high and partying with "friends", so they don't do shit, they do horribly in every subject, and then the school passes them anyway (because if too many people fail, it looks bad for the school - so the school administration has incentive to pass everyone)... and everyone who DOES care, meanwhile, is dragged down listening to the same thing over and over again for the idiots who DON'T care...
