I guess that it only applies for each additional IPv4. Website looks really crappy though, does not look suitable for any production use, but hey it's free.

Apart from that, their shared hosting + their NS are on this network, which is technically a residential ISP based in Rtyně (middle of nowhere).

Any idea why the Iraq vps is so expensive?

  • Because it's in Iraq?

Yeah indeed, with the multitude of high-capacity Top-tier datacenters, abudance of inexpensive skilled IT workforce, hundreds of gigabits of highly-redundant international backbone fiber connections, and finally with the stable political situation and prospering economy, Iraq VPSes should be one of the cheapest in the world. It's just a complete mystery to everyone why they aren't.

http://www.tera4soft.com/ - Iraq (pretty expensive tho)
You should also look into adding at least 1 African location. Host1Free offer free african VPS. Decent performance, registration approval takes around 5-7 days.

Not sure the VPS is really located in Iraq, looks more of an (expensive) reseller of US based hosting based on the Geo of the website IP.

Having african location doesn't means better better speed from Africa, as in most African's countries peering with Europe is much better than peering with neighbour countries.

    This. LINX rules Africa.

How long does the free vps last?

  • Maybe something in Croatia? http://www.bladevps.net/

  • blackblack Member

I added Japan to the speedtest script :)

If there are more LowEnd offers, please post them.

I've had mine for two years now.. just gotta keep them not idle all day every day for months on end otherwise they will terminate it.. i've been using mine as a reverse proxy for one of my other sites and as a backup sql server in case my other goes offline

  • @AutoSnipe said:

    Great :)

  • @AutoSnipe

My vps says Active from 16 June 2014 to 16 September 2014
    in the control panel.?

  • Mine still says August 2012 and still is up, so i would say you have nothing to worry about.
