OpenVZ, which is installed on ESXi
I was just looking at the OVH VPS FAQ and it says this
The Classic range runs on OpenVZ, which is installed on ESXi. This solution enables total isolation, with the best performance guarantees
Is this virtualisation within virtualisation? If so, what's the point in this? Won't it make performance worse?

Hardware predictability? Also scalability. You can't put 1000 OpenVZ VPSes on one server. You could, but performance and stability might suffer.
