Amazingly Customizable non-hosted Monitoring Solution

So, I've been looking around for some time for a real monitoring solution, something that was actually configurable; since Munin has been dead for some years, and Cacti requires an engineer to create the rrdtool file required to make it function correctly;

then I came across zabbix.

See an example below, our LIVE bandwidth stats on Orlando1:

http://www.goodhosting.co/live/

Details:

  • 1 Second Precision
  • Bit-perfect Precision Delta Storage
  • Historical Data / Trend Storage [Delta]
  • Customizable Retrieval Periods on all Graphs...

And if you have a fairly strong network:

LIVE updates every 2.5 second.

Currently my graph jumps about, because I haven't set the upper/lower bounds yet (so the scaling on the left changes rapidly as new samples are brought in. I'll be fixing that shortly.)

    Nice, but I would checkout Observium.

    Wish my KVM nodes would use that much bandwidth !

    How'd you manage to get the graphs public? The only way I found to do it was exposing the graphs to the guest account, which isn't always a good thing..

    Really great share. Was looking for something similar to this.

    +1 for Zabbix!

    :) Just forward proxy the graphs you want.

  • Go have a look at the graphs, I'm going to export all graphs to public now (all VMs and such) so that our customers can see the information about their systems. We're also going to incorporate basic inline monitoring in the templates (don't worry, we have ISOs, so you can safely choose not to use it if you don't want to.)
