Just get a vps from NL or somewhere about as close to host it. Ping difference is minimal, won't make any difference for someone in the UK

My ping from London to GVH in Amsterdam is a consistent 18ms (I have talktalk FTTC)
yeah me too, from my OVH server in FR I get only 1ms difference from the UK. To NL I get around 4-5ms at most.
Have you checked weloveservers? i have a 1gb package ovz package with them for 19$/year. I am sure they do custom plans
