I don't really have the time right now to be messing with apache (working as a waiter right now and my boss wants me to setup a dropbox alternative for her family meanwhile I work).
Does anyone know?

There's some images with OwnCloud pre-installed, such as a Turnkey Linux template:

OwnCloud is quite easy to setup on it's own though. It shouldn't take you more than 15 minutes to install Apache(nginx)/MySQL/PHP.

Side note: if you are working as a waiter, shouldn't you take care of the customers instead of installing owncloud?

Use Hubic from ovh. I tried owncloud but it's just too buggy / keeps breaking every month or so

I don't mind working for free, I do this for fun.
And she's done me favours before. I don't know what made you think that she's exploiting me if I haven't said anything about her.

Installing owncloud are easy enough, go to owncloud.org/install/ choose web installer, download the .php file and put it on your root web folder, and run yourdomain.com/setup-owncloud.php
