OVH and Spam

I signed up for an OVH dedi during their super-cheap deal some months ago, and have noticed a major increase (from almost nothing) in French spam since then. Is that a known thing with OVH? Is anyone else seeing it? Or is it just a coincidence?

    I have seen an increase overall in SPAM as of late.

    Not sure if related but the last 10 or so brute force attempts all came from OVH ranges.
