    I'll definitely look into virt type detection, thanks for the suggestion. As for IP location, I don't see a reason why I wouldn't display it, as geoloation does effect the dl/ul speed. Since the script is open source, feel free to

     grep -v "Speedtest from" speedtest.sh | bash

    I've had a 512MB box with them for about a week and haven't experienced any problems.
