Looking for a decent VPS...

Hello,
My friend is a developer, and he recently was DDoS'ed (it sucked). He's looking for a VPS that is decently protected from things like this (you won't kick him off, if it ever happens again). 1GB of RAM (OpenVZ/KVM, doesn't matter). With decent storage, more than 45GB+ would be preferred, and what he is really looking for is a good connection speed (1Gbit). Yearly payments would be great, if available. And a price point of $40-45 would be AMAZING.
IPv6 would be a great thing too.
