How much would you pay for a VPS, and what hosting perks actually matter to you?

Hey everyone,

I've been thinking about VPS pricing lately and wanted to hear some opinions from people here.

There are so many providers offering pretty similar specs at completely different prices, so I'm curious what you guys actually consider a fair deal.

Let's say we're talking about a VPS with 2 vCPU, 4 GB RAM, 40 GB NVMe, 1 IPv4 and a 1 Gbps port.

Would you pay $3, $5, $7 or even $10/month for it? And how much does the location or network quality affect your decision?

Also curious about bonuses from hosting providers. Things like account credit, cashback, free upgrades, loyalty discounts or extra resources for long-term customers.

Do you actually care about those things, or would you rather just have a lower monthly price from the start?

And one more thing, what makes you stay with a provider? Is it mostly the price, or are you willing to pay a bit more for good support and a stable service?

I'm involved in hosting myself, so I'm genuinely interested in hearing what people think from the customer's side.

Not trying to sell anything here, just looking for some honest feedback.

Curious to hear your thoughts!

tbh, depending on the location and the cpu specs, it would probably be ~$15/yr. If the location is good (e.g. Japan/Singapore/APAC) then probably no more than $30/yr
