Finding Location or What VPS Service someone is using

JomarioJomario Member

Hello everyone! Im new on this forum, i hope you all are going well!
Anyone know if its possible to know where a VPS is located via IP?
I have some agents, they are doing some work for me, but i have around 20-30ms ping
Im trying to get more close to the server so my ping gets lower
Anyone know if its possible?

  • 20-30ms is like really good already. What are you doing to need even lower ping?

The best for getting location from ip is various geo ip services.

    Sure, use ipinfo.io.

Try finding out what upstreams the provider is using and what your other end is using. You may use mtr/traceroute tool for this. Even if two servers are in the same city, there are cases where routing could be suboptimal due to peering policies (for example).
bgp.tools is useful for tracing upstreams.

I use for sniping some information for me
But the less ping, the faster i get the information
Thats why i need maybe 15ms or lower
    Thats makes the difference
But im having a bad time finding how to reduce the ping

    Well first of all depends.

If you automate what your doing your ping -> server is not a point of concern, its your server's ping to the target. on the server in terminal / cmd type ping "domain / IP" of where you get your information.

Use ipinfo.io, and enter your servers IP to find the information if your "sniping" manually, not sure why you would need a server.
