WTB: Budget KVM VPS / Dedicated Server — 16GB - 32 RAM, 280GB+ NVMe, IPv6 /64, Under $150/Year

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for a reliable, low-cost KVM VPS or dedicated server for a small developer community project. I'm open to both new offers and existing promotions.

Required Specifications

Budget: Ideally $60–80/year, with an absolute maximum of $150/year

Virtualization: KVM VPS preferred; dedicated server also welcome if it fits the budget

RAM: 16GB minimum, preferably 32 GB or more

Storage: At least 280GB SSD/NVMe, preferably 320GB+

CPU: 4+ vCPU or equivalent; high-end CPU performance is not required

Network: 1Gbps port preferred

Bandwidth: Unmetered or a generous monthly allowance

IPv6: Public IPv6 connectivity; a routed /64 subnet is strongly preferred

Location: US preferred, but EU and other locations are welcome if the offer is good

Access: Full root access with a supported Linux OS

Important Technical Requirements

The server will host approximately 100 lightweight Linux system containers for development experiments.

A routed IPv6 /64, or another officially supported way to assign unique public IPv6 addresses to the containers, is important.

Proxmox VE nested virtualization is optional, not required. I would prefer to run Incus/LXC directly on the VPS if supported.

Please Include in Your Offer

Exact CPU, RAM, storage type, and storage capacity

Annual price, setup fees, and renewal price

IPv6 allocation and routing details

Whether Incus/LXC workloads are permitted

Server location and network details

Any fair-use, CPU, disk I/O, or process limits

Whether the offer is currently available

I'm happy to consider annual promotions, long-term deals, and refurbished dedicated servers, provided the resources and terms are clearly stated.

Reliability and usable resources matter more than peak performance. I would rather have a stable, modest server than an oversold VPS with impressive advertised specifications.

Please post your offer here or send me a PM.

Thank you!

  • Someone please tell him that the BF sales haven't started yet

  • 150$ an year for a configuration which is hard to find even at tripple its price . I have 32Gb RAM SYS OVH Server for 36$+Tax Monthly which is tripple your price. Guess your AI Prompt needs to be updated to reflect pricing expectations to be realistic. I have a 6vCPU 12GB Ram 100GB NVME VPS From OVH for 12$+Tax so you need to get way real with your expectations !

BF is still a long way off, but I don’t mind picking up another unit then.

    As expected with ai

500USD/Year would get you many decent providers and hope you selected a reliable one.

For a budget of 500/year, what kind of configuration can you offer? Regarding network connectivity, we require highly stable, global-reaching connections—specifically including routes to the U.S. West Coast.

The current data center provisioning process is extremely slow; I still don’t see any servers in my account.

    @Anpassda

As rightly pointed out by everyone here as well as AI, in today's energy and AI created crisis, $150/yr will not get you the configuration you are looking for. However, let me offer you two custom deals, one that will come in/around $150/yr and another matching your requirements, but with viable costs...

    4vCPU
    16GB RAM
    160GB SSD
    1 IPv4
    1 IPv6 on request
    Location: Buffalo/Los Angeles
    1Gbps
    8TB Bandwidth/month
    $159.95/yr

    4vCPU
    32GB RAM
    320GB NVMe
    1 IPv4
    1 IPv6 on request
    Location: Kansas City
    10Gbps
    20TB Bandwidth/month
    $299.95/yr

These are almost the black friday offers you could be expecting!! DM me for custom order links if interested.

Goto @TierNet They have rapid provisioning and would be able to accoodate to your requirements. You can also consider OVH for APAC

  • Berohost just had anniversay sale, but you're late.

    Maybe @berohost @HostDZire @HostSailor @DediRock can have some deals

    Hey @Anpassda,

we're in Eygelshoven, Netherlands, so EU and not the US. For the routes to the West Coast you can check the path from our Looking Glass below before you order.

Our EPYC 64G has 12 cores on AMD EPYC Zen 3 Milan, 64 GB ECC DDR4 RAM and 300 GB NVMe in RAID 1 for 44.99€/mo, or 40.49€/mo with code LET10. That's above your 280 GB minimum, but a bit under the 320 GB you'd prefer. On a 12-month term the 10% term discount comes on top, so with LET10 you're at 36.44€/mo. The term discount also applies when you renew, and the plan is available right now.

It's KVM with full root and nested virtualization enabled, so Proxmox works too if you want it later. You get 1 IPv4 and an IPv6 /64. Like on all our plans, the /64 is on-link and not routed to the server, so for your containers you'd hand out the addresses on the host side, for example with an NDP proxy. Traffic is unmetered with no monthly cap, on a 10 Gbps shared port. Fair use applies, so neither the port nor the CPU should sit at 100% around the clock.

    Order: skri.me/epyc
    Test IPv4: 77.90.60.30 | Test IPv6: 2a09:3f00:3000::cafe
    Looking Glass: skrime.eu/network / AS215365
