Not everyone here likes Discord. Some do, but many don't.
So it's a container, not exactly a VPS.
https://microlxc.net already exists.
Yes, you are allowed to advertise if you are a real host (NO discord hosts allowed here)
It's $200 to advertise
I kinda think I'm kinda serious. The two servers that run it are Rack servers (1 physical at my house, 1 in the cloud for the discord bot) and they are connected to a sketchy enterprise switch which is connected to 1Gbp Frontier WAN using an ASUSsy router, It's in the USA.
Anyway, what do you think.
Doesn't openworld.eu also exist and give something like this? (even though they are moving to Firecracker MicroVMs)
Anyway, who cares. Should I advertise is the question?
Hmmm, sweat....
If I make a panel, will I finally get approved?
AGain: registered business, public company registration or sole proprietor registration, and then purchase your advertising
You can Pay Here https://services.lowendtalk.com/index.php?rp=/store/lowendtalk-provider-tag
We don't know. It all depends on the LowEndTalk administration. If you want to sell something, you need the $200/year provider tag. If not, it's free, but you can open a support ticket and ask whether it's allowed or not. Also, this isn't KVM, it's LXC, and it's hosted at home. Is the IP residential or not?
The IPv4 is residential, IPv6 isn't though.
Why the IPv6 isn't residential? Ask frontier, they gave me IPv6 for like a single day and then nuked it out of existence, so I use Route64 IPv6.
The $200 is the cheap option if you want to advertise here so that is why I am sending you toward the most affordable one. The other options ( https://services.lowendtalk.com/index.php?rp=/store/lowendtalk-advertising ) start at $300-700/month.
have test ip?
This has to be a joker
Dude, relax. He doesn't want to sell anything. He wants to a offer a free service. That has precedent, though he needs to clear it with the admins.
Like @itzsenu said, generally advertising/selling will require provider tag, and for free/giveaways they sometimes don't require the tag, but it's best to open a ticket to inquire about it with the admins
Free VPS, hosted from home on a residential IP and managed through Discord. Yeah, I'm sure the community will be lining up for that one
hold on a sec, here:
IPv6: 2a11:6c7:2300:500:be24:11ff:fe29:5d22 (may not work because I'm currently doing net maintaince)
IPv4: I'm afraid of someone ddosing, so I can't give you.
Holy shit.
I think the risk here is that too many people are going to want one to do shady shit with and blow this guy's life up.
If you're going to be a basement host, you need to get a GRE/WG tunnel so you dont get yourself arrested by what your free customers will do on those residential IPs
Honestly, It's IPv6-only, which is under datacenter IP with WG, you should relax. The IPv4 will never get used.
I doubt it.
Hmmm, a exit node
Ah okay. Just dont give anyone IPv4 access.
Well, I need an outcome now. Do I make a ticket at the admin team, then if i get approved then make a post?
Send proper instructions and acording patches.
Someone is definitely going to take this as a challenge.
Sounds like a quick way to get your line terminated by your ISP for spam and abuse.
At least make it IPv6 only - for your own peace of mind.
And the "Host Rep" tag is free, if you have an actual infrastructure, not sure a basement
server qualify as one.
Simply yes
Open a ticket and find out what happens, you might need to give jbiloh bucks
