vps[dot]gripe: A simple archive for your YABS & bench runs
We all know the drill: you buy an impulsive $10/year chicken, SSH in, and the very first thing you do is run a YABS. ![]()
So I built a simple home for them: https://vps.gripe/
It’s essentially an archive (or a glorified pastebin) built specifically for VPS benchmark runs:

Right now, it’s purely an open archive for chicks benchmarks — just a clean place to look up past runs and compare notes.
Down the road, I'm thinking about adding a Filtering & tags: Search by provider, CPU model, virtualization, or location...
If you have some idle boxes or benchmark outputs sitting in your terminal history, feel free to feed them in. More importantly, tell me what features would actually be useful to you versus what would just be bloat! ![]()

I like it.
Shit look 300% better than serverv***** ngl
nice clean
I agree!
well, it's still an early version, and I hope it will get better in the future. I registered this domain over six months ago, and I can finally put it to use!
It looks really good but I think it would be even better with advanced search
Yes, the current search function is still relatively simple. I'm thinking about how to make the search fast and user-friendly.
Nice app!
One Request: Add the link of the provider for each result so we can scout the prices & plans easily😅
Good idea. So, are users allowed to add affiliate links?
Who ordered that VPS from RivenCloud? That's so expensive
They are very fast for MJJs 🤣
I forgot to mention that when you submit, you can modify the specific plan name here.

too much whitespace, not answering the use case, too much "useless information". you can do better. good example https://artificialanalysis.ai/
did you just add that, i swear i didnt saw that, or im blind..
Thanks for the suggestion. The UI/UX details aren’t finalized yet, but overall it will still retain a good amount of whitespace. Hmm, this example site feels a bit information-dense for me.
Haha, this feature has been there from the very beginning; perhaps you didn’t notice it after pasting the test results.
Once you paste the results when submitting, you will see some input fields for editing.
are you planning to keep it long-term? Would be sad to upload yabs results and then lose them one day.
Yes, I plan to maintain it for the long term. Currently, the domain and server costs are affordable for me. I will always make backups before starting any future feature updates and optimizations.
Nice, I have got my own YABS aggregator coz don't want somebody else to just shutdown the server (happened to me already).
Just like you, I even saved them locally at first, so the earlier reports on this website are basically all mine 🤣
Thanks to the LET folks for the advice, here are some updates:
The homepage content width is now slightly more constrained, making the overall information more compact while maintaining appropriate whitespace, which looks much more comfortable. (Thanks to @Motion3549 for the suggestion)

Yes, a comment area system that supports multi-site anonymity has been added [Ecoku] (https://github.com/DejavuMoe/Ecoku ), it is open source and supports multiple sites, which looks a bit like HN's comment area style.

There's a better search now, even though it's still quite simple (thanks @mrerenk). I'll see what changes in the future.

I hope to receive more feasible suggestions, regardless of any aspect.
Looks nice. But always interesting why fio and YABS show only IOPS, where is QD1, where is fsync, where is queue depth, where is latency. What is the point to have even 100k IOPS if fsync runs at 100, it’s 10 ms latency on each write ...
Quite nice update, perhaps you could add more advanced search in the future. Like searching CPU name, ram, disk size etc etc.
Looks very clean!
Different benchmarking scripts focus on different aspects, but in most cases, if you use the same script and control the variables, you should be able to see fairly significant differences in performance.
In my opinion, YABS is a pretty good "comprehensive standard" benchmarking script.
Looking out of a car, truck, or train window, you can also see “fairly significant differences in performance” by how fast the scenery goes by. But there’s a catch
Agreed
That a cool project but im going to stick with my private forgejo server with my own private git
wow no neon color AI vibe UI coding...
quite the rarity, nowadays
