Got YABS?

We sure do! Please read these notes though:

Network "speed test" results vary by location, based on latency due to distance or how busy these public iperf servers may be at the time...

Network port and disk I/O are limited in order to minimize "bad neighbor" issues.

Note: "VM type" is KVM, but due to Hyper-V enlightenments, YABS detects it as Microsoft virtualization.

IPv6 is disabled by default on new servers and can be enabled from our portal at https://portal.serverpoint.com.

As far as I'm aware, you get a 10 Gbps port, but upload is limited to 1 Gbps to prevent abuse.

I was trying to convince them that we should give out some PS5 or Switch2 or a new NEOGEO AES+ :) Maybe next time...

As zGato said above, yes, its a 1.2gbps output. Our hypervisors though are either dual 10g or dual 40g capacity, but we limit VM's output to reduce abuse.

Incoming, however, you can get up to 10gbps when you download something from within the virtual server.

    That's in our development list.

Development of new features is on hold as we are rewriting a lot of our APIs and adding an MCP server to our Client Portal. Then we will resume with adding features.

I'd say it's great, but it does have its little issues for gaming.

DDoS protection takes a minute or two to kick in after it is detected, due to the fact that when a DDoS attack is detected, we reroute our incoming traffic through a DDoS scrubbing service and that takes a bit of time.

But it's best to have an interruption of a minute or two than an interruption of hours or days.

We will soon be introducing a firewall feature for all VMs, thus, you can filter out certain kinds of traffic and do so permanently, thus reducing that initial impact of a DDoS attack.

And we are working on an edge firewall feature, that operates at our router level, that you can manage from our Client Portal. But that one will take time to implement across all locations, as it requires all of our routers to be replaced and that's a multi year, and very expensive, project.

Our Las Vegas, Nevada and Ashburn, Virginia data centers will most likely be the first, as we already replaced one of two "aging" routers at those two locations.
