Arguably, the rate of improvement has slowed down. Going from "produces some bugs" to "produces some bugs, but not as many" (GPT-5 to GPT-6) is not as impressive as going from "can't even write a function without forgetting the names of its own variables" to "can write basic programs" (GPT-2 to GPT-3).
You keep talking as if you have any credentials to back yourself? I have seen engineers working at elite orgs who are optimizing their LLM configurations. Even high profile open source devs are the same.
Same goes for anyone arguing about code quality and architecture. I don't care (and no one should) about hobbyist's opinions tbh. It's only worth hearing it If you've built something at scale.
Why is the pro-AI/"vibecoder" crowd always so defensive and argumentative?
I'd say 99% of the time because they can't program but fancy themselves programmers, so they always point to some elusive fantasy "professional elite Real Man programmer who, like them, vibe codes" archetype out there working for elite companies, as if, by virtue of having something in common, they can absorb some of their legitimacy through osmosis.
The other 1% of the time is because they regret buying an RTX Pro 6000 and need to justify its existence.
+1 to this, for 1-2$/mo I can work with 10Gbps, 500-1000GB storage and MANDATORY Stremio integration.
Pure ignorance. Insulting attacks instead of answering my questions. It shows you are just someone who repeats what others say, without building anything which has any significance.
I already explained that I despise "vibe-coding", I don't have time to half-ass things.
There were no insults.
You seem to need to constantly reiterate your superiority and others' inferiority. In fact, on your very second post, you had the need to call yourself a competent dev without being asked. Then later, implying that hobbyists (on a hobbyist website) aren't worth listening to because they haven't built anything significant (actually, many of us have). And now, of course, you have to continue to remind us, unlike ourselves, you are someone important who has done important and significant things.
It makes sense why you are so defensive despite being around all of us who "have no credentials".
GLWS.
The anti-AI/"vibecoder" crowd is equally defensive and argumentative in my observations on LET.
Reiterating something over and over, you've gotta be a bot at this point. You are twisting words, just like a bot. I am not going to respond any further. FYI, running Tor relays (or really any overlay network nodes) is a child's play, if that's what you mean by having done something significant.
You are a very angry and entitled little man.
And a fragile narcissist too, it seems. You don't notice that every single one of your comments is intended to either raise yourself up or belittle others? And people notice that. Yes, yes we know, you don't need to prove it to the likes of us. You're already secure in your competence, so secure that you need to remind us in every message.
Anyway no, running Tor relays is trivial. That's my "hobby", not what I consider something of significance. But clearly you were hoping that that's the peak of my abilities so that you could laugh at the pitiful thing I call my magnum opus.
Perhaps you should sit down and learn some humility, and recognize that some of us are here not because it's the only time we get to play with technology as we aren't competent enough to do anything more, but because we're enjoying some simple side-projects that, like hypermilers, we're trying to do as cheaply as possible because that makes it more fun.
Honestly .yeah. i'd give it to a shot at $2.5/month, 3TB storage and 5TB bandwidth is pretty solid.
@forest LMAO
Dude, you’re talking to the wrong person.
Hmm, I suppose that isn't entirely false, but I'm definitely tired by the sheer volume of new projects myself. It's hard to separate the wheat from the chaff when there is just so much of it.
And when there isn't any evidence of "responsible AI use backed by an otherwise experienced developer", for yet another project or product being pushed in our faces... It sounds harsh, but I don't blame people whose kneejerk reaction is to reject it entirely.
There never really seems to be a proper concern for security either. Feels like a lot of it is based on vibecoders trusting the LLM outputting "yea, it's definitely hardened and ready for production now!", which is just reckless at best.
I don't have time to read all the bullshit you wrote. Imagine having so much free time to write utter, worthless shit. It's clear as a day where you spend most of your time in, it's definitely not building anything.
As someone who builds things, I completely agree with @forest.

If you don't have time, you know you could just not respond, right? How do you even know it's shit if you didn't read it?
Always interesting when someone gets antagonistic and starts exclaiming how they don't care or that it's a waste of their time, yet they clearly care juuust enough to have to make sure everyone in the room knows how much they don't care.
The jump from “basically unusable” to “actually useful” feels way bigger than going from “useful but buggy” to “slightly less buggy.” they’re much less dramatic now.
“Talk is cheap. Show me the code.”

Wow, nine sentences is your limit huh?
You've been around AI way too long if you think that it took me a lot of time to write that.
Arguing about whether AI makes better products is not very constructive. Go and make better products with or without AI, and you will have proved the answer. So far most products created by AI are just slop.
