What should I look for in Linux hosting for a business website?
I'm comparing Linux hosting options for business websites and I'm interested in what people here consider important beyond the basic storage and bandwidth numbers.
For a PHP-based website, I'd be looking at things such as:
PHP versions and application compatibility
CPU, RAM and disk I/O allocation
Database support
cPanel or another management panel
SSL and security controls
Backup and migration options
Resource isolation between accounts
How easy it is to upgrade as the website grows
cPanel is particularly useful when the people managing the website aren't server administrators, but I'd still want to understand what is happening underneath the control panel.
For anyone using Linux web hosting, what has made the biggest practical difference for you: server performance, resource allocation, cPanel management, security, or support?
I'm especially interested in experiences with business websites that have moved beyond basic shared hosting.

you could use aaPanel or CyberPanel with a VPS if ur looking for an easy panel. if ur good with Linux CLI then PHP with Nginx and MariaDB is enough and gives you way more control.
for a business site look at actual CPU RAM and disk I/O instead of the advertised storage and bandwidth. PHP version support and DB compatibility matter too. SSL firewall security etc are also important. resource isolation is a big one on shared hosting. if another account gets slammed you don’t want ur site getting dragged down with it. with a VPS you get more predictable resources and upgrading is easier when traffic starts growing.
cPanel is useful if non admin people need to manage sites mail DNS databases etc. but underneath it’s still Linux doing the actual work. if ur comfortable with CLI skip the panel unless you need the convenience.
wow he’s honest. dude really came here to collect free market research
