Looking for a cheap US VPS with ISP-classified IP for personal egress

EDIT: I initially used the term "exit node", which caused some confusion with Tor exit nodes. I only mean a private VPS for my own personal outbound traffic. I also adjusted my budget after the feedback below. Thanks for pointing this out!

Hi guys,

I'm looking for a cheap US VPS mainly for use as an exit node.

EDIT: I'm looking for a cheap US VPS for personal use, mainly as the final egress for my own traffic.

Requirements:

  • US location, anywhere is fine
  • Around $1–2/month
  • EDIT: Ideally around $1–2/month, but I can go up to around $3–3.50/month for a good option
  • Monthly billing is preferred, since my usage is very low — usually no more than around 500GB/month
  • ISP-classified IP preferred; business broadband / fixed-line ISP ranges are also fine
  • 100Mbps+ port, shared bandwidth is totally fine
  • 1 vCPU
  • 256MB RAM
  • 5GB disk
  • Dedicated public IPv4 preferred

Very low specs are totally fine.

I already have West Coast transit VPSes with CN2 / CU 9929 / CMIN2, so I don't need any optimized China routing on this VPS. I'll use my own transit VPSes to reach it.

This is strictly for personal use — mainly AI services and normal web browsing.

No Tor exit node, no public proxy, no spam, and no abusive traffic.

Mainly looking for a cheap and stable VPS with a clean ISP-classified IP and decent IP reputation.

Any recommendations? 😄

Yeah, it really does seem hard to get 😅
Would around $3/month be a realistic budget for something like this?
I'm still pretty new to this, so I'm just trying to get a feel for the market. Thanks!

Yup, most providers dont allow Tor exit nodes because of abuse, DMCA complaints, spam, and IP reputation issues. Especially under $10/month. Under $5, even fewer providers allow them because the margins are too low to deal with the extra abuse and support overhead.

So for $3/month Fourplex is fast.

Ah, I think I used "exit node" a bit ambiguously 😅
I don't mean a Tor exit node. It's just a private VPS used as the final outbound/egress for my own traffic, mainly AI services and normal web browsing.
No Tor, no public proxy, no spam or anything like that.
In that case, would around $3–3.50/month be a more realistic budget?

Hey @Neli7777, read the rules first. If you edit the main point or change the meaning, add "EDIT:" and strike through the previous incorrect part. :)

Thanks a lot for the help, both of you! 😄
I actually already have a NY VPS from another provider using a similar upstream/network, and the experience has been pretty good so far.
What I'm mainly trying to find now is a clean ISP-classified IP for personal egress, rather than just another cheap DC VPS. Specs are really secondary for me.
If you're curious, here's my little VPS monitor / collection:

Thanks again for the recommendations and for helping me understand the forum rules!

Trust me bro, the IP is clean. Lower price doesn't mean bad IPs. I even browse normally from a DediRock IP and have never hit verification or Cloudflare issues. It's provider dependent. I've never had an issue with DediRock.

Thanks, that's actually really helpful 😄
I agree that a cheap DC IP can still be very clean and work perfectly fine in practice.
I'm specifically curious about ISP-classified / fixed-line / business broadband ranges this time, mainly because I want to compare how they behave versus the normal DC VPSes I already have.
But if DediRock has clean IPs with no verification or Cloudflare issues, I'll definitely keep it in mind too. I really appreciate you sharing your actual experience — you've been very helpful to a newbie like me.
Thanks again, and I hope you have a great day every day! 😄

Fair enough 😄 English isn't my first language, so I may not always phrase things perfectly.
I'm still learning the market here. If $3–3.50/month is unrealistic for a clean ISP-classified IP, I'm happy to hear what a more realistic budget would be.
    Thanks for the reality check!
