Secondary sanctions and the extension of U.S. local legislation to the entire world are, of course, simply ridiculous. This only works because the U.S. were global hegemon, and many corrupt representatives of national governments are forced to follow U.S. directives. I believe that the CIA, the FBI, and other U.S. law enforcement agencies have a wealth of incriminating material on many of them. May I offer something to the citizens of the affected countries? Resisting American hegemony should become your main goal. Only your people should be the hegemon in your country.

But fortunately, as an alternative, we can use Chinese, Russian, and other national developments of large language models.

that really is very sad news. my opinion on politically aligned providers is probably well known, and i will continue to warn against using them, because now we have proof that reputable providers (like autistici, of course) are throwing in the towel because their opponents are too powerful. it might be better to use a “gray man” service.

You don't get sanctioned for using a free service provided by a sanctioned entity. Anyway my response was more about the idea that we should always avoid political providers with the reason being that they might get sanctioned or shut down. But the same could be said about any privacy technology: Don't use VPNs because they might get banned. Don't avoid sending your photo ID to every site that asks because that might become mandatory. Etc.

I dont like proton as I dont really like their android apps. I tried using tuta, but naa, I need smtp and imap access. I switched to posteo for sometime but a lot of emails from my university and sometimes github were never received and there support is bit slow too, so dropped it too !! At present I am back to outlook.
@forest @itzsenu any recommendations?? I was considering runbox but I read somewhere that they are not good email delivery wise.... I need something which has support for atleast 5 to 10 email aliases with smtp, imap support and I dont like using custom domain.

Didn't they have any professionals advising them on how to move and diversify their funds, for example by keeping them across different accounts or entities, or holding part of the funds in cryptocurrency?
I don't think they expected an entirely legal service to be sanctioned and for the sanctions to result in their bank (illegally) seizing the funds.
