Re: Any SJC VPS?
Gents, i am looking for a vps in the San Francisco Bay Area (preferably San Jose / Santa Clara / Fremont)
Specs:
1c
1GB
10-20GB NVMe/SSD
250Mbps@1TiB BW (or Unmetered) (I'm fine with more BW)
$2.5/3.5/mo (i prefer hourly if possible, if not then i can pay for a month, yearly works too)
This is going to be a nginx reverse proxy box + maybe another private adguard home server.
Since i am on AS7922 (Xfinity) i just want to know if you peer with the following ASN (or what is your upstream/transit providers ) + i also want to know your LG so i can check the routing from my home to your router in SJC/Fremont/Santa Clara like test IP.
AS7922 (Xfinity)
AS6939 (Hurricane Electric LLC)
AS701 (Verizon)
AS174 (Cogent Communications, LLC)
AS2914 (NTT America, Inc.)
AS6461 (Zayo Bandwidth)
Although, these are examples. I don't really care enough but HE.net is fine enough. I will be checking traceroute, i just like to see the smallest hop possible.
I do recall some providers already.
Upcloud: for their 1c/1GB/10GB/250Mbps for $3.5/mo (billed hourly) i did try them before and they were very good. i like their UI n such.
OVH: no
VeloxMedia: Brit'ish hosting belongs in the trash
racknerd @dustinc : i would love to buy one... but idk dude, price bumped since last year and MJJ keep buying the stock (not complaining) but just oversold + also i saw HostPapa so nty, i have one in LAX atm (for $0.54/mo with Cloudnium)
Greencloud @NDTN : i did recently check their stock and EPYCSJC-1 was still in stock, 1c/2GB/20GB NVMe/10Gbps @ 3TiB (Going to manually cap it at 250Mbps anyways lol) + Virtfusion Support for $25/yr hmm
Digital Ocean: I'm not going to bother
Vultr: Since their lowest plan is $5/mo (for vc2-1c-1gb, $0.007/hr) i noticed they have a vc2-1c-0.5gb-v6 for $2.50/mo or $0.004/hr but since it's v6 only im going to pass but i did try them since 2020 and the support is nice. forgot i haven't used them in years n such
@GTHost : i did check again and i still see their 1c/1gb/20GB/1Gbps @ 8TiB for $4/mo (or $40.80 USD/yr -15% discount)
@SmartHost : checked their price and its still the same 1c/1gb/10GB/1Gbps @ 1TIB BW - No Debian 13 Support, 12 is still there but good enough. for $2.95 ($3)
My Budget is $40-45/yr (hourly preferred if available)
Thanks,
Fubuki

Hi.
Santa Clara Looking Glass:

Most of our service plans are available in this region:

Paying annually, even our Ryzen plan is at your budget.
You can update from our Debian 12 template, or install Debian 13 directly from ISO.

Debian 12 is fine. I notice you guys use SolusVM. I am still thinking about it but ill just wait a few more months until black friday in November ig
@Fubuki Does it have to be SJC? @MaxTakeba had made a thread about LAX vps roughly 6 months ago Wait, it's Seattle/Portland lol
Yeah, since it's psylogicaly closer to me. (In ms) I am currently using my server in Las Vegas from BuyVM for 4yrs now. Just that I have a server with OCI in SJ and I just need one for an edge nginx node. As long as it's near SF/SJ or around the bay area, I'm fine with that
SJC is in your head? Fascinating.
I found out that GSL is fucking wank the hard way.
OVH in Hillsboro will do my needs once I am off this ISP and onto a wholesale option.
