Looking for a dedicated/bare-metal server located specifically in New York/NYC metro (NJ is fine) or Ashburn/Northern Virginia.
Currently considering the following:
$125/month — Dual Xeon E5-2680 v4 class, 64GB RAM
$179/month — Ryzen 5950X, 16C/32T, 128GB RAM
Looking to see if any providers can offer better value, either:
Similar performance/specs for under $125/month, or
Significantly better hardware for around $125–200/month
I'm not specifically looking for an E5-2680 v4. Happy to consider newer Xeon, AMD EPYC, Ryzen, etc. if the performance/value is better.
Requirements:
Dedicated/bare metal only — no VPS
NY/NYC/NJ or Ashburn/Northern Virginia strongly preferred
64GB RAM minimum, 128GB preferred
SSD/NVMe
1Gbps minimum
Good network/routing is important
Monthly billing preferred
Main priority is CPU performance/concurrency and network quality rather than large amounts of storage.
