Best SMTP server for WHMCS?

What do you think the best FREE (or very low cost) SMTP server for WHMCS is (e.g Google Apps). I do not like outlook.
It should be able to send many emails per day, unlike outlook.

Personally I have been enjoying using Mandrill App. 12,000 free e-mails per month is a nice start. I have just found it to be very reliable and it gives great stats on how many people open or "read" your e-mails. https://mandrill.com/signup/
Mandrill is fantastic.
Currently using Mandrill for two help desks and a few other things. No deliverability issues.
That said a properly setup server where the WHMCS is located will be just fine as long as basic sender reputation requirements are met.
+1 for Mandrill. Every bit as good as SendGrid but much less expensive, and it's by the same folks as MailChimp so you can tie transactional and marketing emails together nicely.

Why can't you use the server your WHMCS is installed on ?
Amazon SES work good.
Mandrill is better for inboxing ?
