Hi everyone! This is my first time renting a VPS, so I’m still a beginner and don’t know much about choosing a good provider for my service.
The project I'm talking about mostly is backend service for specified project.
I’d like some advice on what I should look for when choosing a VPS, such as CPU performance, RAM, storage, network quality, uptime, location, security, backups, and customer support.
I’d also like to know what I should avoid, especially things that a beginner might not notice when comparing VPS providers. Are there any common red flags, misleading offers, or providers that are known for poor service?

Regardless, you should probably start with the Provider Poll, those are all good hosts.

Depends on what you're looking for. Without knowing what kind of backend service you're running, there's no way to assist.
If you just want a solid provider who no one will say "oh avoid them they suck", consider Onidel by @onidel + @oloke (great for APAC countries) or AdvinServers by @advinservers (great for the USA). They both have good offerings. They're a bit on the expensive side compared to many providers here, but they're still much cheaper than the "big players" like Digital Ocean.
Leave the extreme deal-hunting and risk-taking (which happens a lot on LET) to people with more experience. Certainly you could find some treasure that's dirt cheap yet somehow fits your needs perfectly, but you're far more likely to end up with an unreliable service you regret buying. So just get something solid and don't fret over a few dollars a month like we do.
