CloudCone VPS down for 24h+, zero response on any channel (ticket, email, Twitter) — anyone else?
Hey all,
First post here, sorry to jump straight in with a complaint instead of something more useful. Hoping someone here has been through this recently and can tell me if I'm just being impatient or if this is the usual CloudCone experience these days.
Short version: my VPS (LA location) went completely dark yesterday afternoon. SSH just dies mid-connection, the website it was hosting stopped responding, basically everything went quiet at the same time. I tried the usual stuff — waited it out, tried connecting from a different network in case it was on my end, nothing. That evening I used the panel to reboot it, which at least seemed to do something for the first time (the machine actually dropped off the network completely instead of just being unresponsive), but it never came back up. Feels like it's stuck trying to boot and failing.
I've since sent four separate detailed messages through their support ticket system, emailed directly, and even posted on Twitter tagging them. Nothing. Not even a "we're looking into it" auto-reply beyond the initial ticket confirmation. It's been over a day now with total silence on every channel.
I only signed up about three weeks ago (paid for a full year up front, like an idiot apparently), so this isn't some ancient neglected box — it's a pretty fresh account. Which makes the total radio silence even more surprising to me.
I know CloudCone had that whole Virtualizor ransomware mess back in January that some of you covered here in detail — is this possibly a repeat of something similar, or just a garden-variety storage/hypervisor failure on their end? Either way I've already moved my important stuff off elsewhere just in case, so I'm not desperate, more just... annoyed and trying to figure out if I should keep waiting or write this off entirely.
Anyone had a VPS go down like this recently and actually gotten a human response out of them? Curious what worked, if anything did.
Thanks for reading the venting.

Just a simple rule - if a reboot fixes it, at least temporary, it's 99.99% on your end.
Some daemon might eating up all the RAM/hogging CPU/opening millions of sockets.
Boot a rescue system and run yabs to see if it's fine on a clean system.
If you already moved your stuff, this should be an easy thing to start with.
i do have one issue tho. why are there so many “don’t use this provider”, “fraud”, “down”, “warning” posts from people who literally just joined? like, some of them might be legit, but why are so many of these coming from brand new accounts?
@Cloudcone
Because if you've been here long enough, you'd have an own provider list to avoid 😂
i'd think that was pretty standard, i know i browsed the site anonymously for deals for quite some time before bothering to make a login when i had to ask some hard questions.
That's right.
Actually I even can't rebuild to another OS, I get : Error, VPS rebuild failed. I don't say it's not my fault but it's totally stuck and get 0 support.
