Email received: Important Update for Clientexec Owned Licenses

Hi Michael,

We’re reaching out with an important update regarding your Clientexec Owned License and access to future software updates.

When your Owned License was originally purchased, it included one year of software updates. Historically, we haven’t strictly enforced this update period, which has allowed customers with expired update access to continue upgrading to newer versions of Clientexec.

Starting with Clientexec 7.2.1, we will begin enforcing the update period included with Owned Licenses.

What does this mean for you?

If your one-year update period has expired, you’ll need to purchase a 1 Year Updates Extension ($50) before upgrading to Clientexec 7.2.1 or any future releases.

If you attempt to upgrade to version 7.2.1 without an active updates extension, your Clientexec installation will fail to complete the upgrade. You would then need to either:

Restore your Clientexec installation from a backup; or
Re-upload the files from the last version of Clientexec you were previously running.

For this reason, please do not attempt to upgrade to 7.2.1 until you’ve confirmed that your license has active update access. As always, we also strongly recommend taking a complete backup of your Clientexec files and database before performing any upgrade.

If your update period has expired and you’d like to continue receiving the latest Clientexec releases, you can purchase a 1-Year Updates Extension through your Clientexec account.

We understand that we have not enforced this limitation in the past, so we wanted to provide advance notice before the change takes effect with version 7.2.1.
