  • I prefer OpenDNS (just keep nxdomain in mind) then Google.

    OpenDNS :

    208.67.222.222

    208.67.220.220

    Comodo :

    8.26.56.26

    8.20.247.20

I personally use Google and OpenDNS.

  • he.net:
    74.82.42.42

    speakeasy:
    66.93.87.2

  • you will have a bit more control when you use opendns like block certain websites and they kindda block adware/malware websites

I think I've used 4.2.2.x exclusively for 10 years or more.

with ISP's DNS at the end of the chain?

  • I'd used 4.2.2.x for many many years, however I've switched to using Google as my primary DNS as Level3 has added a search page.

  • I'm A Little Biased In Favor Of DNSPlease.com:

    209.148.88.228

    209.148.83.210

    sorry,

  • better using google dns than any other dns :P

if you use other dns, they will not doing well with cdn, most of public DNS will return IP closest path to their server not yours

  • You can test it for yourself. I tested it some time ago with a VPN set to use different DNS servers (Google, he.net, and OpenDNS).

I found he.net DNS gave me the best routes to the CDNs, and smoother video streams.
