CloudCone took my $11, promised a refund, then read my LET warning and still ghosted
TL;DR: Paid $11 for a VPS. No stock after payment. Promised refund in 7-14 business days. Over a month later — nothing. Three recovery channels all dead-ended. Even a pre-LET warning email was read and ignored.
The timeline:
- Late June: Paid $11 via Alipay (UnionPay credit card). Immediately told "no stock available." Support promised a refund within 7-14 business days.
- July (weeks of chasing): Ticket #1470108 — repeatedly asked for status. Agent Sabry A eventually closed the ticket and told me not to open any more.
Three dead-end recovery channels:
- CloudCone ticket → closed, ignored
- Alipay 95188 dispute → rejected, "contact the merchant yourself"
- Bank (BOC) chargeback → bounced back to Alipay, circular dead end
July 27: Sent a courtesy warning email saying I'd post on LET. The ticket was opened (someone read it) ... then marked "Confirmed" again. They read it and decided not to respond.
Why this matters:
It's $11 — I'm not crying over the money. But their refund policy is a lie. If they treat $11 like this, imagine what happens with a larger order.
Lessons:
1. Send a pre-sale test ticket before paying. If support is slow, that's your answer.
2. Use PayPal, not Alipay/credit card — at least you have a real dispute mechanism.
3. CloudCone's "7-14 business day refund" means nothing.
Comments
Quick update — I can confirm CloudCone read my LET warning email (they opened the ticket right after) and still chose to ignore it. Ticket #1470108 status was changed right after the email landed. Will attach the ticket log screenshot if I can. Just a heads-up for anyone considering them — their refund policy and support are not reliable.
lol
😂 I think that's called a "threat"
yeah, thats the only way. . . .let the LET police will do their job, and quadrupled your ticket waiting time
No no it's not just any threat, it's a "courtesy threat".
Cloudcone is cloud gone
Again
So they never provisioned the VPS, right? Or was it just late?
