  • I cannot believe it. It's come true!

  • Thanks, just signed one up, will report back as soon as I get the server.

  • I've been out of the loop for a while, does OVH still hate America? Or can we order Kimsufis now?

Well, a few months ago I asked Oles and he said Americans can buy them but I haven't tried it. I tried ordering one of those free .EU domains form ovh.com and got rejected for being American. So, no idea to be completely honest.

Only europeans can have eu domains.

Which datacentre is best? Their French one or Canadian one?

  • Just got one, installing OS now, let me know if there is any test you want to see.

Hm, out of curiosity, I used a UK address. That probably doesn't qualify, correct?

This is in BHS (in Quebec, Canada).

You can but you have to put up with French. I'm not sure about VAT removal policies but it seems like it exists here: http://forum.kimsufi.com/showthread.php?21735-VAT-Removal-for-companies-within-the-EU (but it says for Companies within the EU, not Americans / Canadians)

  • @darknyan I just ordered one from Canada and the VAT was taken off the invoice once I had entered my address.

  • @Jack All the BHS servers are showing 120 seconds right now, I ordered an Atom™ D425 and it was delivered within that time frame.

No problem, let me know if you want me to run anything else

  • wow kimsufi in the usa. nice, just picked up one 120 seconds for setup.

  • So tempting to get one of those to replace my dual 5420 box at Joe's. Twice the RAM and hard disk space with similar PassMark score for the CPU, at a similar price... Anyone know what their policy/pricing on IPs is like? I'm going to need at least a /28.

  • @NickM you cant have more then main ip on kimsufi servers thats ther trick to force you buy the ovh servers

    Thanked by 1NickM
  • @setupvps Thanks. That's absolutely useless for me then. Oh well.

  • @NickM yep the only use i can see for thos servers its for backup or offer free shared hosting i dont see any other using

  • jarjar Patron Provider, Top Host, Veteran

Guess they're already out of atoms in BHS. That was quick.

    Yeah, just saw that too.

I suppose I could NAT all of my VMs, but then I would have to stick a reverse proxy in front for websites. Which... actually doesn't sound like too bad of an idea. I actually don't really need all of those IPs. Now I'm back on the fence lol

  • Jack said: The fence fell over sorry.

I'm actually looking at the i5-3570S, not the Atoms.
