LF - Storage VPS, HDD or SSD, East Coast, Upgradable.

Interested in what's out there in terms of expandable storage VPSs. Looking at hosting my own Proxmox Backup Server instance for backing up VirtFusion-powered VMs as per their new deduplication-compliant v7 'Backup Manager' update.

Doesn't necessarily need to be fast, and offers are still welcome that aren't expandable as long as a simple migration can be done, I'm not worried about expanding into S3 temporarily if adding local disks isn't too difficult.

Starting off with about 6TB storage, will add storage in 2TB increments.

DDoS Protection/a nice network is a major bonus, but not required.

Wouldn't mind pricing similar to what I'm paying for S3 at the moment - which is 5$/TB, there or there abouts. Less is better, top range is 7$/TB if the product is very good.

Interested to see what people think, if I need to make adjustments, let me know!

  • They did look good, but they required that I sign up personally and reimburse myself because they wouldn't accept sales over a VPN or let me use my home IP with my business address (My business address is Manhattan & I run a US LLC, but I'm from the UK).

They told me I could either get refunded or pay it as a personal asset and reimburse myself via my business, which then takes away the data protection guarantee from my customers - instead of just accepting a document from my bank verifying my company operates out of that address, or take any of the other address verification information I had to hand :(
