Looking for CF workers alternative

FireyeFireye Member
edited May 11 in Requests

I currently run my site's very minimal backend on cloudflare workers, but would like to migrate off CF servers, ideally to somewhere where I have more control over what specifically is deployed and how (CF workers run as a JS-only endpoint), and where I can minimize my patronage of large corporations (CF, AWS, Oracle, etc...).

I am not concerned about reliability, uptime, performance, etc... I just run a small endpoints for my website's guestbook and newsletter. I do not care very much if I see downtime or latency in either.

I am a student, and thus pretty broke; I'm only on workers now because they're free. Ideally I would love another free option, but I'm mostly just looking for what's out there, free or otherwise. Thanks!

I think just getting a cheap vps could be an option.
Not sure if there is any other free options other than using free credits/free tier on some big platform like you mentioned.

If possible, hosting your own server locally can be good too.

Bunny has Edge Scripting and Magic Containers which seem similar.

Free is the most expensive option, because you'd end up locked up to platform and hyperscaler.
How much is your RAM requirement? TierHive is $0.1/128MB/month, while larger option 1c1g10GB nvme is $1/m.

Convex has a free plan, and it's quite cool: https://www.convex.dev/
