Reprise Hosting: scaling down after 80% datacenter price hike
not sure if everyone received this, but i just got this email
Dear "My Name",
I am writing to you today with a heavy heart to share some difficult news regarding your
service with Reprise Hosting.
Recently, we were informed by our datacenter that our rates will be increasing by nearly 80
percent. This massive, unexpected price hike comes directly on the heels of another major
increase we weathered just one year ago. Because of this, it is simply no longer possible for us
to profitably host the majority of the customers we serve today.
If there were any viable way to avoid this situation and absorb these costs, we would
absolutely take it. Unfortunately, there is not. We have no option but to significantly scale
down our operations. Regrettably, there will be no opportunity for customers receiving this
notice to continue hosting with us. We will no longer be accepting new orders for the
foreseeable future. You will need to seek hosting services elsewhere and migrate your data as
soon as possible.
To ensure a smooth transition and prevent any data loss, please review the following critical
timeline and billing details:
June 1st, Temporary Disconnection: To serve as a final warning and to help ensure that all
customers have successfully migrated their data and services off our network, we will initiate
a temporary disconnection of your service on this date. Upon request, service will be
restored/continued.
June 10th, Permanent Disconnection: All services, including your servers and cPanel licenses,
will be permanently and irreversibly disconnected.
We want to ensure this financial transition is handled as fairly as possible:
Prorated Refunds: All affected customers will receive a prorated refund for their monthly
service payment, taking into account the final June 10th disconnection date and your specific
renewal date.
Avoiding the Next Charge: If you wish to cancel your service before the disconnection date to
entirely avoid your next monthly recurring charge, we must receive your cancellation request
before your upcoming renewal date.
Many of you have been with us for over 10 years, and it is incredibly painful to have to say
goodbye in this manner. Please know that we sincerely appreciate your years of loyalty, trust,
and patronage.
We are deeply sorry for the inconvenience and disruption this will inevitably cause you and
your business. If you have any immediate questions regarding your billing or the migration
timeline, please reach out to our support team.
With sincere regret and gratitude,
Brian Harrison

Reprise Hosting was one of the first providers I got from LET's offers topic when I just joined the forum. Didn’t expect it to end like this. RIP...
dont forget to migrate if you have business on it.

That sucks to hear about that. Hope @BrianHarrison and others involved end up ok
Yes, I received it too.
I now need to find a new 12TB hard drive server in the western United States. Under $40.
Sad to hear this, but glad for the customers that there's over one month of notice. We've all seen providers who have disappeared with little (or no) warning.
Big thank you to Brian and the crew for years of awesome service.
It’s rare to see a shutdown announcement this honest and respectful. No fake promises, no ghosting, just transparency about the real pressure from cost hikes. I genuinely appreciate that he didn’t blame customers, put some bullshit KYC verification or try a last-minute cash grab. Classy exit, even if it’s painful
I wonder if we will see this with other providers when they have colo renewals...this market is complete ass anymore.
