The service provider switched my annual billing to monthly billing.

    That does sound confusing, but there are a few common scenarios where this can happen without it being an intentional “plan change” by the provider.

    In many billing systems, especially for VPS services, annual plans are actually just a recurring monthly plan with a prepaid discount applied. When something changes in the billing state (for example: renewal pending, invoice regeneration, or account migration between billing systems), the system can sometimes:

    default back to the base billing cycle (monthly), or
    recreate the service under the standard plan template rather than the discounted term, or
    show a UI mismatch where the underlying term is still annual but the invoice preview shows monthly.
