I actually have mounted 5 storage servers in my ryzen 9950x server of bero host (transcoding and heavy computation with output to storage servers ). Works like a charm. For important files, there is replication among the 5 servers which are from different providers in different locations. Works like charm.

iHostART has a $43.69/year system called "VPS STORAGE 38$ / year" with 3 TB HDD storage (and 12 GB SSD for the OS) with 20 TB/month bandwidth, 1 vCPU, and 2 GB RAM in Romania.
For a cheap server, they're pretty good and you won't be able to beat their prices, although they have downtime from DDoS from time to time. I wouldn't trust them with large sums of money lest they're unable to refund you if funds get stuck, but for just $43.69/year, you'll be fine. I use them and, for the price, I'm happy.
If you want something more reliable but more expensive, @aluy has servers in the Netherlands for €110/year with 1 TB HDD storage, 1 vCPU, 1 GB RAM, and a shared 10 Gbit port with FUP unmetered bandwidth.
