Does anyone have experience with PTRDNS? Did you use the holiday offer?

  • Why would you pay for this when you can get CloudFlare for free?
NoAckHosting has free Anycast DNS if you don't want to go with CloudFlare.

  • It's been a year since some light speculation about expanding offerings to the low end. Has anything developed since then?

I'm not opposed to having free plans, but it won't happen for a few months: I'd like to get a large enough base of happy, paying users, and then open to a limited group of free users to manage the time and resources they'll take.

@Turbo_Pascal Thanks for reminding me, I should have something ready in the 2nd half of January. I'll make a post in the Freebies category when done.

@jcn50 I'm not pretending to compete with the likes of CloudFlare, I built PTRDNS to offer something that very few providers do, which is hosting for primary and secondary zones (AXFR in and out). Not everyone cares about that, but for those who do there are very few providers to turn to.

  • Excited for this!

  • Looks pretty interesting. I'm happy they support secondary DNS, since not many providers do. I might try it out since I'm hitting the 10 million queries per month limit on my DNSMadeEasy account.

Yeah, I am not sure there is any demand for this... and if there is: just 2x servers @ $7/year each with a total of $14/year would do... We are on LET after all.
