Thanks, but that simply sumarizes what I already know. I am mostly interested in what people are doing in practice to migrate. What they migrated to, and why. I am still confused and undecided as to whether I should migrate to a still supported ingress controller, or to a an API gateway.
Apart from falling back to traeffik, I cannot think of any other alternatives as of now. My k3s cluster uses ingress-nginx as well, have to do something about that now.
I am not a big fan of Traefik because of the way they handled the breaking changes in v2.
I've no prior experience using them, but this could help if someone's looking for a drop-in replacement

If I go with an ingress controller, I am more likely to go with haproxy than traefik.
Kubernetes is for nerds.
I figured but maybe others weren't familiar. I think this is part of the larger issue of FOSS software maintainers being overwhelmed or at least under appreciated and underpaid.
