Can anyone suggest VPS/VDS under 140$/yr with good cpu frequency?

IsadIsad Member

Hello Let members,

I hope all of you are doing well. I'm looking for recommendations for a new VPS/VDS with a focus on high single-core CPU frequency.

I will host 2 of my SAAS web apps and supabase self host for database management on that vps/vps!

I already saw some deals for vps on hostkey and greencloud that seemed good but I wanted to know if any of you know any better ones??

Also for vds I saw Netcup Black Friday ones and deluxehost both seems good?? Maybe you guys can give me suggestions or reviews about which one would be suitable!?

  • Suggestions: netcup, layer7 and servarica.

Okay thanks! I already checked servarica. They seems to be giving really good deal but I wanted to know about the reliability and performance? Are they good? And I will check layer7.
As for netcup I checked a lot yabs of the netcup rootservers the performance was really good on them so really considering them now!

Btw, Thanks a lot for the suggestions!

  • advinserver and layer.ae(their new nl server seem give high result)

Okay advinserver seems good! But their pricing seeems like same/closer to netcup RS dedicated server! And I will look up layer.ae, I never heard of them!

    Thanks a lot for helping!!

Why don’t you check out black friday sale thread

Might be good to know your location preference :-)

That's a great point! I am checking the Black Friday thread, but I find it overwhelming. I was hoping members here could give me personalized suggestions and reviews on specific providers (like Hostkey, Netcup, etc.) for my high-frequency CPU/Supabase setup. Sometimes, direct feedback is better than scrolling through hundreds of deals that's all! Thanks mate!!

  • Take a look on Prohosting24 and php-friends/Avoro.

My primary preference is US or EU! Preferably US! But any of these locations works for me!! I hope you could provide me some good suggestions here!! Thanks in advance!!

For 140$/y you can already get a dedi.

Could you suggest which providers or specific deals I should look at that offer a stable dedicated server for around $140/year? Thanks in advance!!

KS-LE-B look if you can buy a stock one.

  • KS-LE-B look if you can buy a stock one.

Okay, the Kimsufi ones! But is the performance of these dedis good?? cz it seems like some of the VPSs perform better than the cheap dedicated servers that KimSufi or OVH provides? Do you have experience using them? Are they good? Looking forward to your reply! Thanks a lot again!

If you pay me, I am happy to help you.
I am not gonna do the due diligence for you.

I made a simple suggestion, which given your budget, is better than buying any VDS.

Hey, thanks for the suggestion regarding the KS-LE-B! I appreciate you pointing out the dedicated server route.

You got me wrong, I think. I wasn't asking you to do any research/due diligence for me. I was just hoping to hear a quick yes/no if you had any personal experience with them, as it helps filter the many forum reviews.

Anyway, thanks for the help! I really appreciate it!

  • I was a Servarica customer for 2 years and last year moved to dedi's which I love but the cost is pushing my budget. I didn't know about Servarica's KVM slices until last week, which gives you dedicated vcpu's, decent ram and NVME and 10Gbps up to xTB depending on tier. I am testing a Slim Slice 2 for $5/mth and a Slim Slice 4 for $8/mth and may move some stuff over from my dedicated servers. A Fat Slice 4 which has 4 dedicated vcpus, 16GB, 1TB NVME for $10/mth fits under your budget. I found my previous VPS servers with them middle of the road while these Slices, running on Zen 2 EPYC, are VDS's. Although it only has been a week so I have no long term metrics, I am happy so far.

This one you can get for $55/year

  • Web applications (especially something like Supabase) are much more IOPS heavy. You don't need single threaded performance as much as you need low latency and high throughput disks. You can shard Node.js apps anyway, so there's no reason to go for single core perf.

  • I've been with Servarica for 8 months now. Since it's a VDS, we are using it as a personal/remote desktop. There are 25 users active, browsing, watching YT, Netflix, and etc. We've never experienced any downtime issues, though I did have to restart the server once.

    Thanked by 1servarica_hani
