    After changes on minio, I guess, if going to self hosted, I will try Seaweedfs. I have not setup a self hosted s3 storage server yet, but maybe I will setup some servers for testing and learning.

    In witch regions did you experience low speeds? And was it on regions or specific countries?

    in that case, just for photos r2 has been great in my experience. would prefer this over self managing for something that is mission critical.
    but i think it also depends on traffic, and the impact it would have if something takes longer to load, if 100s ms more or 10s secs more would be an issue. for a small local site just selfhosting off a cheap reliable vps would probably be fine as well.
    so access regions, traffic and asset size would be factors that should be considered
