Free Tool – VPSAlert: Real-Time Monitoring for OVH VPS Availability

Hi everyone,

OVH often has very attractive VPS offers, but the problem is you usually have to keep refreshing their site and checking each package manually. I got tired of doing that myself, so I built a small project to solve it.

It’s called VPSAlert 👉 vpsalert.online

What it does:

  • Real-time Monitoring – Detects when a VPS comes back in stock
  • Smart Alerts – Get Notified When VPS Becomes Available
  • Completely Free – Just something I built and decided to share

This started as a personal tool, but I figured it might be useful for others here who also hunt for OVH deals. I’m still a junior developer, so please don’t expect everything to be perfect—if you spot bugs or have ideas to improve it, I’d really appreciate your feedback.

The project is open source, so if you’re curious or want to check the code, you can find it here:
👉 GitHub Repo

Here’s a quick preview of the dashboard:

Hopefully this saves you some time refreshing OVH’s site 🙂

Lovely. Any chance for webhooks support?

The "Start Monitoring" on the main page does nothing when I click on it

  • I need dedicated server alert as well

This page is ridiculously unoptimized, or did you not build in release? This looks vibe-coded, and you didn't clean up the results thoroughly enough (e.g. there are lots of placeholders the LLM left behind where it didn't implement functionality). I would suggest checking if it fucked something up.

  • my i m potato laptop fan going brr when open the website

  • Nevermind. Looks like it was something with Firefox not liking that site.

Good point! Adding Kimsufi support is definitely on my roadmap — a lot of people are asking for it. Thanks for the suggestion 🙏

Thanks! About webhooks — could you share how you’d like to use them? (e.g. push into Discord, or something else?) I haven’t added this yet, but I’d love to understand your use case before I plan it.

Ah, thanks for catching that! The “Start Monitoring” button is currently a bug (it slipped past me 😅). I’ll fix it in the next update.

Thanks for the honest feedback. The site is deployed on Vercel free tier, with both app and database hosted in Singapore — so performance might feel rough sometimes. Also, yes — I did use AI to speed things up (I built this in < 3 days), so some placeholders and rough edges slipped through. Some of the animations and SSE polling might be heavy right now. I’ll clean things up and optimize better in the next builds. Appreciate you pointing it out!

Guilty as charged 😅 — yes, I used ChatGPT to help speed up development. Otherwise this would’ve taken me weeks instead of a few days.

    Yeah, for discord mainly.

Dont get me etong, its perfectly cool to use gen Ai for speeding up development.

Like others have pointed out it smells more like vibe coding without understanding the performance and other considerations.

It is always optimal to have a basic understanding of what you want to achieve and not rely on gen Ai.

They tend to hallucinate a lot and you may end up opening your application and server for vulnerabilities if blindly accepting what is provided.

    Good luck.

Bro he's even responding to you via gpt. Anyway.. Cool idea but I feel rused cuz it says "vpsalert" and I didn't read the whole topic, now realize it's "ovhvpsalert"!

  • too many errors, when accessing the website my computer cpu is always above 80%

  • thanks, but where are the OVH Dedi Alert?

  • Just came across this. Looks promising, thought it could definitely use some optimization.

  • @stefeman said: Yeah, for discord mainly.

noted. I'll add this to the roadmap.

Fair point. I did understand the performance considerations but missed some optimization opportunities in the first release. The main culprit was the Prism background animation causing high CPU usage, this has been fixed. I do have the technical understanding, just prioritized shipping fast for initial feedback.

  • @vivucloud said: cpu is always above 80%

High CPU usage was from the animated background. and it fixed in the latest update.

The name is "VPSAlert" not "OVHVPSAlert" purely for copyright reasons. I don't want OVH hitting me with legal issues for using their name in the domain

  • @tonytran said: where are the OVH Dedi Alert?

Dedicated server alerts coming soon. Started with VPS since they're more frequently out-of-stock. Dedicated monitoring needs different API work, so it'll be in a future update.RetryKV

This. Prioritizing speed over quality has usually not scaled well, generally speaking.

    Wish you the best.

Well that's fine, I'm just pointing out that it's sort of a generic name for alerting about ovh vps. Especially here where we have over 4 zillion vps vendors. Anyway I was just amusing myself, don't worry about it.

Thanks for not giving me that standard generic fake gpt appreciation shit.
