Looking for servers in the Moscow region with RETN network routing access

I need to reduce latency through RETN, but haven't found a solution after trying multiple providers

If you're looking for something legal to buy (for example EU entity), I'm not sure about RETN specifically (I think they stopped sales in Russia if I remember correctly and just keep a pop there for latency) you can try Melbicom. Lithuanian company and doesn't sale to Russians directly, so no sanctions issues.

Thank you for your reply, but I couldn't find servers for the Moscow region available for purchase on their website.

  • Check hostkey.ru; I am not sure about retn (check yourself via LG https://lg.hostkey.ru/), but I've had a dedi with them for some time without any complaints.

out of topic, I wonder if they're faking their locations? we have a GPU server with them in AMS, and a simple ping to gateway(!!) takes 5-6ms.

Can't help with this, i do not know :(
I only have dedi in the MSK location, and it was 100% percent in DataPro Moscow datacenter.

  • Anyway, I think that whole situation depends.

From some providers in RU to some providers in EU, packets will fly via RETN, HE, or there a possibility of direct peering with Rostelecom.

So IMO, without understanding full packet traces (from where to where) we can't give you correct advice. So open Russian providers, open their looking glass and check route to your IP.

    For VPS: https://bill-eu.melbicom.net/store/cloud-server-europe-v2
    For Dedi: https://bill-eu.melbicom.net/store/dedicated-servers-msk

On their system, all prices for Europe are the same and no matter which country you choose on main website, it brings you to billing page that asks you to choose country anyways.

They probably took it off main site to avoid people DDoSing it and stuff like that. Not sure?

Anyways. There you go. From ~4$/mo, VPS in Russia.

most ruvds.com locations are single-homed RETN (they also have test IPs)
@mlcloud has a few RU locs with RETN only (or a mix with MegaFon)
(Kazan / Moscow is single-homed RETN, SPB is RETN & MegaFon)

Hostkey as mentioned by @SashkaPro has a mix of RETN / TTK / RT / Cogent so latency likely depends on how they do their mix.

vdsina.ru has RETN & GNM mix

apparently yeah, you can get like 200-300 Mbps download perhaps but upload is capped to 80-100 Mbps.

plus they use Hyper-V which from a 512MB VM takes 100-150MB away lol

Can you recommend someone in RU with 10G or 1G DL/UP (FUP ofc)?

With true 10 Gbps, Aéza is the only one I know kinda. sprinthost/sprintbox also has 10 Gbps but upload is capped to like 1 Gbps IIRC (have no clue about FUP).

Thanks! That guys looks promising, but the route to MSK node from somewhere in Russia goes through SPB, so we get +20 ms lol.

    Will check aeza
