i moved almost all domains to spaceship service
Porkbun is a good registrar and pretty much the only one I use now. They aren't often the cheapest but they are almost always within a few bucks but I've found their support team (US based) to be extremely helpful and find that they don't shove anything down my throat.
Doesn't porkbun enforce KYC thou?
I have 10+ domains registered with Porkbun and have never been asked to provide documentation
Has anyone heard of joker.com and if so, what are they like?
I think I responded yesterday.
The price increase doesn't impact existing domains, only new orders. The $14.99/yr .ST domains were introductory, but the price for all those registered during that period remain the same.
$17.76/yr for registration and renewal is the current price.
https://dotST.st will have current pricing and promotions when we have them.
+1 for Spaceship otherwise If you have multiple domains then openprovider is best.
I found it really hard to figure out if their prices included EU VAT or not, it's not mentioned explicitly anywhere (or I overlooked it, could also be me).
I don't mean to be that guy but.. I don't think that entirely accurate? (Only mentioning it because I just saw this comment after paying the $17.76 renewal the other week)
PM me your email.
I did change the renewal pricing some time ago before the registration price increases as well. Some registered at $14.99, renew at $14.99. Some registered at $14.99, renew at $17.76. Now it's $17.76 register and renewal. Unless we manually change this one by one, account by account., what was true at registration time remains true... As far as I know. The WHMCS domain system is very bad.
For example, in the ticket I saw the renewals for the original domains at $14.99. So some people are certainly still renewing at that, because that was the price at registration. If your renewal is $17.76, it's likely because that too was the renewal at registration time.
Send me your email and I'll check to see if that was the case.
Like i said in the ticket, im an existing customer. The increased renewal prices are not for the existing customers right ?? Thats exactly what i said in the ticket !
I have also PMed my email in the ticket. Please check ! Have been trying to reach out to you.
There are no open tickets about this.
There is no mechanism in WHMCS to have NEW domain pricing impact the pricing of OLD domains.
So, what you paid for a year ago and what the renewal price was then, is what the renewal price is now.
New domain pricing only impacts new orders. There is no mechanism in place for, "Do not apply this new pricing to existing customers or customers with an active domain with this TLD" when adjusting pricing. That price adjustment is only for new orders.
The price now is $17.76 purchase, $17.76 renewal.
Hundreds were lucky with the $14.99 introductory price and renewal. A couple adjustments were made between the introductory price and the pricing that is now available. (I believe there was also a $14.99 registration, $15.99 renewal for a couple months too)
Your existing domain pricing is untouched, unaffected. We were a new .ST Registrar and offered the cheapest .ST domains for many months, literally, the cheapest when compared to any other registrar. Now the pricing is more sustainable.
I apologize if there is any confusion about this. WHMCS as a domain platform isn't the greatest and without using 3rd party plugins and modules there is no, "Update pricing for everyone" or "Don't update pricing for this guy" mechanism. Domain pricing updates impact only new registrations and new registrations only.
You both can use this coupon code
S6B9FBUA13for $14.99, but renewals will still likely be $17.76 because there is no method for me to specify renewal pricing in a coupon code that overrides the price. Best I can do without having to manually go through one by one and modifying all your future orders, and I'm not going to do that, too much work for a few dollar profit on a domain purchase if I am being honest. The coupon does not expire and is good for any existing customer who wants to purchase a .ST domain for $14.99.To reiterate, the pricing increase has no impact on your earlier, much favorable pricing. It only impacts new orders. I've created a coupon for you to use to purchase at the old price. I hope you find this acceptable.
No this doesnt help
This is wrong. I got the domain for 14.99 ! Why do i have to renew at 17.76 USD now ?? I told you many times that im already an existing customer. What is even going on ??
Cloudflare, Porkbun, Spaceship, Dynadot
Cloudflare is fantastic, but the limitation is that you have to reach out to support to create or change nameservers, making it a "niche" registrar. Enom's pretty popular, I suppose. Moniker is very straightforward, but their prices are high.
been with google domains for several years until they sold it to Squarespace. They include several services with the domain registration. I wanted a big well known name ๐.
Dynadot
