Help maxing out my Newsdemon usenet speeds on Seedhost 10G Server
Hi everyone, as my title says, I have a Newsdemon usenet account and I want to max out my speeds (purely for the fun of it) on my dedicated 10G seedhost server. I was able to get an extra 50 connections from Newsdemon after contacting support and telling them what I was doing, so now I have 100 connections I can use.
My Seedhost server has a 2TB NVMe that I am downloading to, Intel E-2356G, 6 cores, 12 threads. I do not know the quality of the NVMe.
My Newsdemon account allows 50 connections normally but they bumped me up to 100. I am downloading from the eu.newsdemon.com and I am using port 563.
I am using the latest version of SABnzbd.
I am having an issue where I can only come close max out the speeds when I am downloading really large sets, and I have tried increasing my connections from 50 to 75 to 85, etc, but it seems like the more connections I add, the slower it goes. My fastest actual speeds are being seen around 40 connections.
I have tried downloading new stuff and it seems to be slightly faster than older stuff, but even then 5000 day old stuff was within a few ticks of the same speed as the brand new stuff.
Does anyone have any thoughts on what I am doing that causes this error? Any tweaks I should try to squeeze more out of this setup? Could the issue be with the Seedhost account? I have often wondered how they can sell dedicated 10G accounts at what I pay for it.
I have tried other providers, I tested Newshosting as well, but hit their limits long before this server’s 10G pipe was stressed, so for now I’m sticking with Newsdemon.
