Host-C 10 TB Promo VPS $90-$120/yr

This is a service transfer of this VPS I received last week. Please find the YABS from that thread.
After I got the VPS and paid its renewal invoice last week, Host-C marked this VPS EOL yesterday as part of their lifecycle policy. The original cost is $90/yr, and upgrading to their newer hardware will bump the price to $120/yr ($1/mo/TB), which will be recurring.
I did not accept the upgrade path, so this VPS will remain at $90/yr until April 2027 (~1.75 years), at which point it will be decommissioned. If you wish to upgrade to the newest hardware, they will invoice you an additional $30, plus a $10 one-time loyalty discount (so net $20 for the new invoice), and move you over right away. Future invoices will be $120/yr.
I leave the choice to upgrade the VPS or to keep the lower rate to the new VPS owner. You can keep the current specs and upgrade on April 2027, but the renewal rate will likely be higher then, so the choice depends on your use case and budget. If you need 10 TB for just a year and a half, then the $90/yr may be the perfect deal for you.
I am letting this VPS go since I would rather get a storage VPS in the USA instead for around the $120/yr price point, even if it's a little less than 10 TB. I already have two smaller Host-C storage servers and other storage servers in Europe. I live in the US so my peering to Europe isn't good anyway.
Specs:
- 4 vCPU (will become faster with upgrade)
- 4 GB DDR4 RAM
- 40 GB NVMe Boot
- 10 TB HDD RAID-6 @ 4K IOPS (will become RAID-60 @ 4.5K IOPS with upgrade)
- 24 TB monthly traffic @ 1 Gbps (best effort)
- 1 IPv4 + 1 IPv6
YABS can be found on the original transfer thread.
Next Renewal: June 25, 2026 (1 year 5 days from now)
Renewal Cost: $90/yr if unupgraded (expires April 2027), or $120/yr if upgraded (recurring).
Asking price: $90 USD (PayPal Friends & Family) or $100 (Amazon USA Gift Card), since I already paid the renewal invoice last week. Otherwise, I'd transfer it for free.
Additionally, you will need to pay a $5 transfer fee to Host-C.
Please do not send me PMs since I don't want to get a dozen DMs in my inbox. Please leave a comment here and I will PM you if I choose you. First come first served, though accounts with non-spam activity will be given priority. Please ensure you have a Host-C account with good standing.
Host-C offered to refund me for the $90 invoice I paid, but the VPS will immediately be terminated, so I'd like to pass the VPS on to someone else within the next 5 days before I take the refund.
I hope someone else will find a good use for this VPS. Thanks!
Comments
Even if it was double the price its still an insane deal no one compares with @host_c when it comes to storage, this is a great pickup for someone
Vps storage highly recommended, unfortunately I don't need that much space
I am interested,
So upgrade means just moved to new cpu? No changes in cores/ hdd space?
I'd happily take this one!
@PineappleM
I will make an offer here for the new owner.
If the new owner already has a HOST-C account I will wave the transfer fee.
If the new owner is not a HOST-C customer, but has a LET account older then 3 years, I will also wave the transfer fee.
This offer expires on 27-06-2025 ( 1 week from today )
Cheers!
Yes just moved to new CPU, no changes to anything else. If you still want it, I'll send you a PM, or else I'll send a PM to @AlteredParadox . Let me know.
I'm interested
I will take it.
Transfer currently pending to @nvme . I'll update in case it does not go through.
Nice
Isn’t the CPU from YABS on Gen2 already and not E5?
If only 1 or 2 tb
Checked the last owner of the service, it was moved on a scale gen 2 by mistake, then it was moved back on a V4 after the transfer. There was no upgrade invoiced to the old owner for any upgrade to Scale Gen 1 or 2 .
@host_c I have a question.
Is the 5TB pioneer is also upcoming EOL too?
Because if yes, then I will be interested in moving to this one.
@host_c don’t worry about derailing this thread (saw your response to @nvme on your main thread). I’m glad other people are asking questions so they can be fully informed.
Also thanks for offering to waive the transfer fee!

I will answer there, as some might have the same question, so they can find it, or I can just quote myself again, as that is cool
THX!
I'm happy to take it
The service has been transferred over. Thanks everyone for your interest, @nvme for the smooth transaction, and @host_c for the fast support and waiving the transfer fee!
WARNING!
Do not look at @host_c offers and not even at transfers!
That guy is evil in a very smart way. Not only does he design his offers in a way that his victims reading these offers basically have no chance to withstand and/or say "thanks no", but possibly even worse host_c also has his products so well designed and their storage spinning rust performance blows quite a few SSDs and even NVMes out of the water, which boils down to that one can't even complain.
His devilish concept seems to be to offer top class storage servers at prices one just can't turn away from those products. I know what I'm talking about as I'm a driveling happy victim myself.
Sorry, host_c but someone just had to warn of you, you evil guy! *g
Ah, late to the party, great offer from host-c.
Late to the party, but I suppose it would be bad peering for me too (Canada), ah well.
Well, CA is on the suck list with us, yes, sorry for that. ( and I
CA folks, I really do, really nice folks )
Unfortunately we kinda max out at 120-140ms, I shall say no more.
