Here is the benchmark of my VPS. What is your opinion about it? Good, bad, decent, excellent?

  • Bad CPU, everything else is fine. This has to be a storage or memory-optimized VPS I take it?

    Not so good performance,

  • Lower than my mini box in my bedroom

    Yes.

So you get 32GB RAM for 192/3yr ($5.30/m)? CPU is ass but wow that's a great deal for 32GB RAM!!

that gb6 score is lower than my pants when I see @DediRock saying 'I can hook it up'

Now at 8 vCores, I would have expected ~ 2000, but it is a Silver, so.... ( they kinda do what a E5-V3 can )

other then that, decent, CPU might be a problem soon-ish......

Bare Metal that CPU does ~1000 / vcore, ~7000 on all.

The price they charge for that server, I expected better.

I wouldn't trust a VPS located in Ontario, California. *g

And, seriously now, better transfer from SGP than from Eranium (with better ping)? Something smells weird.

At that price point, you can get any vps from digitalOcean/ lightsail / hetzner and get same performance.
Other than that, look at the network, especially Sao paulo. Latency of 400+, seeing it for the first time 😂

    damn, missed that entirely.

  • Yeah this can’t be in California, how is it 240 ms to LA? That’s my ping to Sydney Australia from New York.

It could be, all latencies are messed up. May be using some cheap upstream

ping and gb6, other than those, it looks fine.

Isn't SSDNodes famous for 'overselling' RAM and your VPS crashes if you are like 75%+ usage? or it's RAM powered by SSD? Or both at the same time?

So like... don't look at RAM with them.
    CPU meh. Disk speeds meh.
I think you can find better deals for 500GB of disk :D

Hint: There is '(CA)' after it, maybe they mean the country in which Ontario actually is?
And the 240 ms to LAX, I guess, are understandable after seeing that NCY latency is even higher.

Or maybe iperf3 had more than a few drinks *g

My brain didn’t think that CA would mean Canada in this context since CA is also the state code for California. There’s also Ontario’s in the US to make matters even more confusing.

Either way the pings are garbage no matter where this server is. At least one location should have good ping unless the server is in like Antarctica or South Africa.
