You got me pretty confused. Is $20 the monthly fee for that whole e-2276g server for those who are doing open-source projects or trying to learn server knowledge without stability needs?
I am confused on warning and rules
What exactly do you get for 20$ not clear
Shell account
And server could go kaput anytime.
kinda reads like you're donating him 20 bucks a month to cover the cost of his dedi that might disappear at any time.
Chicken inspection.
It isn't a VPS, so the ceiling price of $10/m doesn't apply right?
Looks like a scam to me
⬇️
$20.25 / month
Respectfully, what the fuck
Seems like a cash grab to me tbh @Not_Oles
GLWS
It does say
Is this a joke?
FYI, non-mods cannot see your email address. Perhaps you should say PM you.
They can if he checked the "Allow other members to see your email?" option.
Even the Calin didn't allow himself to do that…
How is this sort of post even allowed? I thought it was some sort of prank/meme at first
He has provided such services here for a couple of years already
Fuck selling vps just rent and dedi and sell access to it and sit back and watch the chaos commence while you count your profits
Free service yeah not 20$ a MONTH for access that’s insane don’t you think?
The whole server is 40$ a month from hetzner but you’re charging 20$ a month to each user for access? Make it make sense to my small mind please @Not_Oles
Yes $20 is crazy for shell account
He needs 12 of you goofy goobers to make his $200 back for LET and $40? for Hetzner, #13 goober will be pure profit.
edit: Mind you I don't believe he has any malicious motives, he always seemed like a nice guy more or less. I'm just amusing myself because I never understood why his clearly non-commercial "offers" were allowed to be posted here.
Exactly!
Exactly!
Thanks for clarifying!
Makes sense, cheers
Exactly!
Better kaput it sooner rather than later save yourself some money, no one with a working brain cell is buying this shit for 20$/month
regards
@Not_Oles Could you kindly share with us the market research and thought process that went into deciding on charging $20.25/m for a service that:
You seemingly describe yourself as a clueless sysadmin, makes me wonder how you're detecting abuse, filtering users, etc?
For a funny little personal project that provides free access to a machine to those who want to learn, completely fine. But $20.25 for this, respectfully, I will eat shit, chew on it, do a back flip while listening to Nicki Minaj's Pound The Alarm on a live broadcast if anyone buys this.
@SCAM_DONT_BUY
People are all over it at LES, I don't understand why but..
I'm just a guy. . . . I try not to promise more than I can deliver.
I've been letting people use my servers for many years. In my experience, those willing to fund the servers at a more significant level tend also to be more respectful, more competent, and more fun.
Occasionally hard working students show up. Sometimes I give them free accounts.
Often the people who use my servers are smarter than I am. I have opportunities to learn from them.
Best wishes!
