You know what's going on at Hostlim.

My VPS is offline and I have no response to the tickets.

My hosting plan in Estonia is offline too. @VPSSLIM

  • Your offline time has been doubled.

(Someone was going to make that joke eventually.)

Real talk - time to find a serious and competent provider.

Seems like they decided to migrate servers over without sending out emails or advance notification (unless you saw the message in the client portal). My VPS has been up for an hour or two, they could still be working on some nodes.

  • Now I'm glad I missed their Black Friday offer.

They are doing servers hardware migration to a new data center.
    They did posted scheduled downtime.
Network is slighly better (pingplotter) for shared directadmin hosting in the new datacenter
and website (wordpress) speed improved abit... think probably because they rebooted the server.
my website came back online after 7hr+ downtime.. not sure about other VPS services.

If you don't mind me asking: your shared hosting package is in NL or in EE?

Mine is in NL and down at the moment :-|

Well, they claim that they sent out everal emails and keep repeating that on the phone, and when you interrupt that you didn't got one you're told off and "we will inform management about your behaviour" and they hang up.

In the meantime: downtime of well over 15 hours (on the client portal they communicated 2-4 hours), IP ranges still not announced and no update since 23:45 yesterday.
Well, at first they said I'd be called "end of the afternoon, early evening", but ofcourse that didn't happen.

BTW: I'm a colo customer. Haven't got a clue how my server has been shut down, where it is transported to, and when I can expect to have it back online. If they did proper communication that there would be a migration, I'd have moved some of the resources on my server elsewhere temporarily. Just like the previous move they did less than 3 years ago.

mine in NL. is up since 6hrs 30min reported by hetrixtools. pingplotter has now lesser red vertical lines (=packet loss) which i am quite glad. within directadmin, everything feels a tad snappier now so is my wordpres wp-admin.

ya i was unaware of the migration and i opened a downtime ticket to them, it was responsed pretty quickly asking me to check status, that is when i know there was a migration. for me, not much of issue with the long downtime because i not running critical services... just a new wordpress blog.

Update: 03:10: Our engineers are continuing the night to restore all services

[Great job, putting a timestamp on an update but only publishing it hours and hours alter]

Update 07:40: We finished most of the network, we see some servers have filesystem errors. These are being restored. Sorry for the delay.

Still there are some IP ranges not announced...

They are still ignoring/disconnecting phonecalls to their support number. Great stuff guys, you're not making the situation better for yourself.

Here's the email I received yesterday.

Important Update: service affecting infrastructure migration Netherlands june 5 2025 7AM GMT+2

We’re reaching out to follow up on the earlier updates regarding our servers and core network relocation from Woerden to Amsterdam (Netherlands). It has come to our attention that, due to an oversight, not all client email addresses were included in our previous communications sent on May 20th and May 30th.

As per our latest checks this move affects your Server(s) located with us in The Netherlands.
Unfortunately, your email address was among those that were missed or either the mail seem to have been blocked. We sincerely apologize for this error and for any confusion it may have caused. Clear and timely communication is very important to us, and we regret that you did not receive these initial updates.
To keep you fully informed moving forward:

The relocation is scheduled to take place on June 5th, and you can now follow the progress and any important updates in real-time via our status page:
We’ll continue to post live updates there during the migration window to keep all clients informed of our progress.
If you have any questions or concerns in the meantime, please feel free to contact us directly. Our team is here to assist you every step of the way.
Once again, our sincere apologies, and thank you for your understanding.
    Warm regards,
    The HostSlim Team

    Uptime Guarantee

If the Provider fails to meet the 99.9% uptime guarantee during any calendar month, the Customer is entitled to receive a credit equal to one day's worth of the monthly fee for each hour of downtime, up to a maximum of the full monthly fee. This credit will be applied to the Customer's account within thirty (30) days of the end of the affected calendar month.

And yes, I know that it excludes "scheduled maintenance windows" but I doubt that not informing customers and doing maintenance counts as "scheduled".

Thanks - had a look at my backup MX and can see that I got something like that just after 18:00. Great - that's when things have been down for 2,5 hours already and I've been told off that I should have received mail.

Now I don't receive mail anymore because my colocated server is my mailstore. And they are refusing to pick up the phone.

They f-up regularly, but this is a big one.

    Also "in real-time" - what a joke.

Wow... something comes alive now. IPv4, not IPv6.

Both my hosting plans in Estonia are down. However, I would not go that far in asking $0.17 as credit - I merely find it frustrating that I did not receive and notification in advance.

Wondering what is happening there then if they are really in Estonia... Could be that the IP ranges for it are also announced from NL.

Anyway IPv4 addresses are working here now - server was booted already 9 hours ago, only IPv6 range is still not announced and not working :'(

imo, though there is downtime but it also solidify (sorry can't find proper word) that hostslim as a provider is commited to better services and prepare for future demands.
as a customer, i feel happy unless of course they moved due to high rental charges or need to downsize etc haha :D

They also moved just over 2 years ago. And maybe also before that, because that was out of Almere, while they were also in Lelystad before.

If they want to move, OK by me. If that causes some downtime for me, I can live with that. But not unexpected (i.e. missing lots of customers in your communication and telling them off that it's their fault) and not this way of thinking you move it in 2 to 4 hours and 20 hours later still not everything is up and running.

And don't expect "your understanding" when it developed as it has.

Guys, my Netherlands server has been down for 24 hours 😐 Even if I open a support ticket, they definitely won't reply — HostSlim is that bad...

Thanks - checked my maillogs and no mail from hostslim has been offered during 21:00->23:00. Well, no mail anyway in the last week apart from 2 as a reply to my ticket. So mail is working, also from them, but their "oops we did not include all customers" mail didn't include all customers...

The downtime was unexpected for me as well, I have no trace of any communication from them about it. On the bright side, I had only one VPS paid annually with 3 weeks until renewal, which I've canceled as soon as their client portal became accessible again.

I also didn't receive any emails about the migration
